Hello again. I hope everyone is doing well today. I am doing very well actually considering I went to bed at 1am last night. It will probably hit me right after dinner, no doubt. But then again, that is often the life of an author–well, an author/mother/wife who writes when the rest of the house is asleep.
And speaking of writing, I am currently working on the sequel to Ræliksen, entitled Mac Liam. Ræliksen is about a Norse warrior in love with an Irish maiden, while Mac Liam, is the Irishman in love with the same heroine.
Both have their share of twists and turns, steamy yet sensual scenes, and surprise endings, but Mac Liam is proving to be a “more involved” project. For one, I’m having a bit more influence on the cover.
I’ve asked MÃcheál Ó Caoinleain to take on the project and it’s been an absolute privilege to work with him. He is the man who has arranged and orchestrated the Soundtrack CD to Ræliksen and he is incredibly creative, though humble, as he would never agree.
The collaboration on this cover has been an amazing journey from start to near-finish, and it’s something that has meant the world to me. I cannot wait until I have a release date so you can actually see its cover. It is truly breathtaking.
I first met MÃcheál on an Irish Gaelic translation forum, looking for correct translations, opinions, and descriptions of Ireland’s terrain for Ræliksen. Sure, I’ve see loads of pictures on the internet and have a whole slew of coffee table books featuring Ireland’s “40 shades of green”, but I wanted to get accurate information from the native Irish people who live there.
The forum was a great place to hang out and I have met many other interesting people on the forum…some I could even boast at being my dearest friends. I’ve even had the grand opportunity of meeting two of them in person, which I will never forget. And this year in late summer, I will also get to meet MÃcheál. He and his wife reside in Holland and are coming to the states to see me. *I’m doing a little dance as I write this.*
The soundtrack is available in both the US and Europe. If anyone would like to listen to the soundtrack and/or purchase a copy, you can go here to take a sneak peek.
