Damon Suede… between soft and rough
Damon Suede grew up out-n-proud deep in the anus of right-wing America, and escaped as soon as it was legal. He has lived all over: Houston, New York, London, Prague. Along the way, he’s earned his crust as a model, a messenger, a promoter, a programmer, a sculptor, a singer, a stripper, a bookkeeper, a bartender, a techie, a teacher, a director... but writing has ever been his bread and butter. He has been happily partnered for over a decade with the most loving, handsome, shrewd, hilarious, noble man to walk this planet.
Addictions: sweetness that isn’t sentimental, wit that isn’t bitter, strength that isn’t cruel. Allergies: professional victims, half-assery, clichés.
Beyond romance fiction, Damon has been writing for print, stage, and screen for over three decades, which is both more and less glamorous than you might imagine. He`s won some awards, but his blessings are more numerous: his amazing friends, his demented family, his beautiful husband, his loyal fans, and his silly, stern, seductive Muse who keeps whispering in his ear, year after year.

Blurb: Jerry can't catch a break if his life depends on it…and his life does depend on it. A gambling debt gone bad, Jerry is now on the run to stay alive. Borrowing a dead Santa's suit, he hopes to elude the goons after him. But just his luck…he runs straight into the arms of the law.
Excerpt:
“JESUS H. CHRIST!”
He skidded to a halt, the steel door slamming shut behind him. Think. Damn it, he didn’t have time to think. With two big guys in hot pursuit of him, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out those two buffoons would soon be coming through that door like two pit bulls chasing a pound of fresh meat…and he was the fresh meat.
There, lying at his feet, was a three-hundred-pound Santa with a bullet hole in his chest. Well, what looked like a bullet hole. The thing was round and blood oozed all over the red of the suit. Poor guy still held the damn ringer in his right hand.
Without another thought, he yanked off the white fur-trimmed hat. Thank the good Lord the beard hadn’t been real, as it would definitely help him in his own getaway. In record breaking time, he sauntered off down the empty, litter-scattered alley in the red blood-smeared Santa suit, ringing the bell, leaving the poor schmuck in the pile of garbage he had likely died in, gaping whole in his chest aiming toward the heavens. Sorry, but he didn’t have time to contemplate what had happened to Santa, he had to get the hell out of dodge or wind up sharing the mattress of rubbish.
And none too soon.
Just as he rounded the corner, he heard the back door clamor open and two sets of foot falls hit the asphalt. Jerry quickened his pace and melded into the holiday crowd, not daring to look back. The slightest wrong move on his part could mean his demise. These guys didn’t play fair.
“Damn that horse anyway,” he mumbled, giving the bell an extra firm shake. It had been a sure bet. The money was as good as in his hand. He could have paid off the fat bastard who had sent those two goons after him and more. But, no, the thoroughbred had to get entangled with the horse running in second. Who hired those jockeys anyway? They both went down in a pile of horseflesh and men, thus losing the race and his damn winnings. Money that hadn’t been his in the first place. Jesus! He was as dead as Santa. Fitting how he now wore the suit.

Blurb:
In a time when men ruled their households with firm hands, can a quiet man tame his rebellious wife with persevering love?
Angry at being forced to marry a man not of her choosing, Adaku stubbornly shuns her new husband on their wedding night. However, she soon discovers there are worse things than giving in to a man whose touch awakens her deep desires. In a land where fruitfulness is celebrated, she could soon be labeled a barren woman.
Obinna knows there are several ways to tame a rebellious woman. Patience and perseverance are two of them. Adaku is his treasure and he will never let her go. When her fears push her into his arms, will he be able to convince her to stay with him forever by unleashing the passion within her?
Excerpt:
Obinna looked up at her, his eyes fringed by long dark lashes, a black expressionless pool that always unnerved her. As she couldn’t read his mood, gauging how to tell him what she wanted to say was difficult.
“Yes, say what’s on your mind Adaku,” he said in his usual deep voice as he licked his long fingers.
Something stirred low within her belly. Her eyes hungrily followed his action and she got distracted. For a brief moment she wished it was her fingers he was licking.
“That could be arranged.”
Adaku looked up sharply and Obinna’s brow was lifted with amusement. She realized she must have spoken her thought out loud. Embarrassment and heat washed over her skin as he took hold of her hand in his large one.
Somewhere within her mind something shifted. An awareness of Obinna at a primal level registered in her rapidly hazing brain.
The air suddenly felt warmer and her skin prickled. He took each finger into his warm mouth in turn, twirling his moist tongue around each. Sensation flooded her body and she forgot everything else she wanted to say. All she could feel was the stroke of his tongue on her fingers as he sucked and lapped each one.
His touch scorched her straight to her soul.
She gasped and his eyes came up, locking onto her and pinning her to the spot. His eyes were filled with a desire she couldn’t explain. His tongue moved down her skin searing a path to the spot at the center of her palm before licking it. Then he released her hand and she realized she was trembling.

13 years agoHi All,
I'm new here, but not to the publishing world. I've been published since 1984 and have been a writer since 1972 (or trying to be anyway) . Today I'm posting a blurb and excerpt of my newest release THE ICE BRIDGE, a ghostly romantic murder mystery from Eternal Press (http://www.eternalpress.biz/book.php?isbn=9781615725182.) YOU TUBE BOOK TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28HZqu-my1g Grin. Warmly, author and 2012 EPIC EBOOK AWARDS FINALIST NOMINEE for her romantic end-of-the-world horror novel THE LAST VAMPIRE-Revised Author's Edition, Kathryn Meyer Griffith rdgriff@htc.net
BLURB of The Ice Bridge:
She’ll fall in love again…with a man and the island. Charlotte returns to her Aunt Bess and Mackinac Island, a quaint retreat that welcomes summer tourists and allows no cars to renew herself and write about the island’s ghosts.
She’s come to help Bess with her heartache, an ended love with Shaun, and to renew a friendship with neighbor Hannah.
In winter Mackinac closes down and everyone looks forward to the ice bridge that freezes across the Straits of Mackinac.
Until Hannah disappears into the icy waters crossing it.
Everyone says it’s an accident. But Charlotte and her admirer cop friend, Mac, don’t think so. Something isn’t right. Hannah was too smart to go off the path.
So it’s murder…but why…how…by whom?
In the end, it’s Mac–and perhaps Hannah’s ghost–who saves Charlotte and Bess’s lives when the killer decides they’re too close to the truth and tries to kill them, too.
EXCERPT:
By the time they crossed the ice bridge Charlotte had to struggle with the wind to stay on her machine. She was sick they hadn’t found Hannah, and she was frightened, tired and freezing. Her body had lost all sensation. She thought she had fingers in her gloves, but she wasn’t sure.
The ice bridge was eerier returning than when they’d come, if that was possible. An early night had descended, though the snow illuminated their surroundings enough so they could see. It almost made their headlights unnecessary. The ice was lit up as if there were lights glowing beneath it. Strange noises, sounding like distant moans and cries for help, rushed by her head.
She remembered what Hannah had said about the ice bridge ghosts. In her state of mind, she could imagine misty shapes flitting around the ice behind and around them, trying to tell them something. Did they know where Hannah was? If she looked quick enough she thought she saw them with their hollow ghost eyes in their transparent ghost bodies. It seemed they were closing in on her and Mac.
Hannah believed the ice bridge ghosts appeared when someone was about to die—or had died.
She panicked as her snowmobile sped over the ice, the wind behind shoving her along, faster and faster, as if it was trying to escape something. She was practically on top of Mac as a wave of vertigo hit her. She slowed down before she rammed him.
Her machine went into a skid and barely avoided hitting one of the evergreens. She took a couple of deep breaths to push the dizziness away. Out of the corner of her eyes, she thought she saw something standing on the ice to her right, lost in the particles of drifting snow. It looked like a shadow of a woman with her arms outstretched. Then it was gone. Yet for the split heartbeat it was there, it had scared the heck out of her. It had looked like Hannah. Impossible.
Charlotte wanted to get back to her aunt’s house where it was warm and safe—where there were no spectral shapes to taunt her. She’d never been out in a pre-blizzard before. She was beginning to understand what Mac had meant when he’d said that a whiteout could be disorienting. She wondered if it could also make a person see things that weren’t there.
She kept her attention on Mac’s silhouette when she wasn’t looking for a lost snowmobile and its rider. She didn’t want to see anything else. About three-fourths of the way to the other side, with land and trees in front of them, her eye caught unevenness in the snow a little ways off the secure path. Something in the air behind her, or was it in her head, whispered to stop. Look.
After honking the horn and blinking her lights three times, she swerved closer, but not too close, to the rough patch. She cut the engine and dug out a flashlight from the saddlebag to examine the irregularities. In the glow, she saw there were spikes in the blanket of snow covering the ice.
Had something gone through the ice there?
She was on her knees, with her face in her hands, when Mac joined her with another flashlight. He gently brought her to her feet and guided her to her snowmobile. He walked back to the rough patch. He examined it, getting as near as he dared. He directed his flashlight at the mound. Charlotte could tell by the way his shoulders slumped that he’d found something he hadn’t wanted to find.
He returned to her. The wind had died down to a whisper after the roar.
“Something’s gone through the ice in days past. It’s been broken and refrozen.”
“Hannah?” she breathed.
“Could be. It’s too early to know. Sometimes something goes through and crawls out, wet, scared and cold—but alive. It happens. Maybe a deer or a bear. There are bears on the mainland; did you know that? Every once in a while they wander onto the ice. Anyway, the unevenness doesn’t necessarily mean something is down there…doesn’t mean it’s Hannah, either.”
Mac put his arm around Charlotte’s shoulders. “Let’s go before the storm gets any worse and we get lost, too. When it passes I’ll get men out here to see if there’s anything down there. Come on.”
He drove beside her to shore, both of them staying so tight to the evergreens they clipped a few. She wanted to reach the woods, the solid ground of the island. She wanted to get off the ice bridge and leave what she feared she’d seen on the ice—the ghosts—behind them. ***

Silent Night's Seduction is released today! From http://www.decadentpublishing.com
Blurb:
Stubborn and proud cowgirl, Lily McCormick, is finally coming to terms with her quiet life on her parent’s ranch, until her older brother, as payback, signs her up for 1NightStand. Kidnapped and forced onto a plane to a foreign location, she faces the dreaded cold and an unwanted tryst, until her ex-husband appears before her…as her date.
New York City District Attorney, Rafe Martinez, would do anything to get his ex-wife back, even if it meant taking drastic measures to pretend he was there for another woman. When jealousy and rage surfaces and Lily’s tough demeanor wanes, desire and lust sparks their once powerful connection as truths unfold. Will Rafe convince her to return to him or push her further away from giving their love a second chance?
Excerpt:
A curse erupted into the room. “You came here for a one-night stand?”
The rage in her tone lightened his heart. If she could be angry with him then she must care for him still. Pouring himself a drink, he took his time answering. “Actually, more than that.” He turned around. “It’s three days before Christmas. I hope to spend the whole time with my date and escort her to the ball on Christmas Eve.”
Lily’s mouth dropped open then closed. “Well, good for you. But let me ask you, where is your date?”
Rafe frowned. “You know, that’s a good question. Why and how are you in my room?”
“This is my room!”
He stilled, praying she wouldn’t see through him. “That can’t be. I specifically requested a brunette as my date.”
Lily sputtered. “You—you cad!”
“This must be a mistake.” He went over to the chair he’d occupied earlier and pulled his phone out of his coat pocket. “I’ll email Madame Eve and get this straightened out. Worse comes to worst, you can go request a different room.”
An outraged gasp sounded behind him. “Why do I have to be the one to leave?”
He whirled around and gave her what he hoped was a convincing bewildered look. “Unless…you’re my date?”
She paused. “Hell no.”

13 years agoMy first erotic menage book, "Rhapsody," was published yesterday by Total-Ebound.
Two gorgeous male rockers, one sexy lead female singer. Both men want her. Who will she choose?
Bryanna Trosclair is the female lead singer for the successful rock group, Simmer. She is being forced to choose between having a relationship with her best friend and lead male singer, Axil Simmons, and the group’s pianist, Collin Ripley.
Bryanna refuses to make a choice and decides to date both of them, even though the guys are ready to not only tear each other apart, but the group as well. When Axil and Collin call a private truce and decide to trick Bryanna into making a decision, their plan backfires. Can Simmer survive the fallout of the hot results?
Excerpt From: Rhapsody
"You have to choose," Axil Simmons told her.
Why should I? Bryanna Trosclair thought. It’s their problem, not mine.
"She’s not going to choose," Collin Ripley, the falsetto-voiced lead singer of Simmer replied angrily.
He’s right. How could she choose between him and the twenty-five-year-old golden-haired Axil, who’d been her best friend and confidant since they were ten? "I’ll tell you what. The two of you fight it out and the winner gets me," Bryanna said, hopping from the stage and heading up the aisle.
"Come back here, Bryanna," their tenor and lead guitarist Axil shouted into the microphone for everyone in the auditorium to hear. "You can’t just leave like this."
Of course she could. She, being a liberated female, could do anything she wanted to…except break up a friendship and one of the hottest bands in America.
"Okay, don’t decide," he told her.
Bryanna stopped in her tracks.
"What are you saying, dude?" Collin replied from his side of the stage. "Of course she needs to decide."
"No, she doesn’t." Axil’s tone was defeated. "Put yourself in her shoes. Could you make this choice?"
Bryanna turned to face them and waited for Collin’s answer.
"No!" He stomped away from his keyboard and went backstage to sulk.
"You’re killing us, Bry," Axil said. He strummed his guitar and began playing a haunting tune. He used music to cope with his problems. He’d been this way even as a child, disappearing into his attic studio whenever things got tough. During those times his music had lulled her to sleep at night as the sound spilled over to her house next door.
Bryanna sat down in one of the seats to listen to the sweet sounds of the strings as the music permeated everything around them. Axil was unreachable when he was like this, turned on and tuned out to the rest of the world. He could make a guitar sing when he put his mind to it. He’d wanted to be a rocker for as long as she could remember. Now he was the hottest guitarist in Northern America. How could she decide between him and the dark-haired, dark-spirited Collin, who with just one look had stolen her breath away?
Collin returned from his sulk and took his position behind the keyboard again. He tickled the ivories and began playing along with Axil.
Bryanna gazed up at them. Where Axil represented everything bright and sunny, Collin represented the darkness—twinkling stars, moonlit nights and secrets. His jet black bangs bounced against his forehead as he played. Bryanna shivered. Such sorrow and despair. Had she caused this? They continued to fill the air with their deep, soulful song. Bryanna shook her head. Maybe she should just leave and put both of them out of their misery.
The doors opened and the rest of the band members filed in. Axil and Collin kept playing, each refusing to give up.
Kurt Vanderbrom, their drummer, sat down and placed his hand on top of hers. "I could hear them battling all the way from the parking lot, Bry. You know this is wrong."

Warriors from the Raven clan are sent to guard the king's cattle. They are unprepared for the strange, otherworldly happenings in the new winter grazing land, including nocturnal visits by a beautiful lass. Only their leader, Taran, can save them—if he remembers how.
Excerpt:
Alina wanted to cry out to him, but her throat would not form any sounds. The one who had betrayed her and trapped her in this tree had taken away her speech so she could not ask for help to escape her prison. So many centuries had turned, each season passing in a blur of muted colors, her hope fading. Now someone had come, a mortal who could help her, but she needed to communicate with him in some way. Sighing, she realized she was not even sure she knew how to break the curse.
He watched her now with curious eyes, unaware that she also watched him. When she concentrated all of her power, she could imprint an image of her face on the tree trunk, becoming one with the tree. Only he had seen her face in the tree bark, so she knew he was more than a simple warrior. He had the mind of a druid. Only the one who could help her would be able to see into other realms and pay such close attention to her tree. She sensed the affection in his caress. Shivers of pleasure shot through her body at his gentle touch, giving her a sense of hope.
She studied him, admiring the confident way he commanded his men even as he faced the unknown. He stood regal and powerful, the blue warrior marks he earned shadowing the austere planes of his handsome face. Long, golden-copper streaked hair plunged down his back in a wild tangle. She yearned to run her hands through his thick mane again.
As if reading her thoughts, he glanced back at her tree, his bright blue eyes darkening to a deeper hue in the shifting light, his face softening from its usual hardness. When he looked in her direction, he let slip his true feelings he hid from his warriors. Her heart sang with compassion for him.
She felt herself blush at his penetrating gaze. His eyes awakened that feeling of familiarity in her again, but she still could not place it. If she escaped her prison, she could go to him now. Frowning, she thought how she hated the tree that felt like a tomb. The world beyond the tree taunted her with its bright autumn colors, a world so full of life and freedom. She could not bear to look upon it any longer.
To help her bide her time, she thought about their coupling. Her body flushed at the memory. She recalled how wonderful his muscles had felt beneath her touch and the way he had kissed her, caressing her secret places with his skillful tongue, making her moan and quake. A twinge of desire flickered inside her at the thought of having him touch her again tonight.
When they discovered another missing cow, they would have to stay. At least she hoped so. She continued to hide some of their cattle to keep the warrior there so eventually he could help her escape.
At first, she only wanted to use him to help her escape, but now her body trembled with affection for the golden warrior. After he rekindled what had been dormant for so long inside of her, she began to yearn for him and his tender, passionate touch. Could she let him go? And if he should eat of the apples….

Excerpt from Jamey and the Alien
That night Jamey dreamt he was talking to Santa Claus. Santa Claus didn't look like he did in all the pictures of him. He was wearing a cloak, but it was a sort of brownie-green, not red, and he wasn't wearing a red hat with a white bobble at the end. He was wearing a hat made of twigs and leaves, and there were leaves in his beard as well.
Jamey told him all about the alien in Daddy's head and Santa Claus listened and nodded wisely. However, when Jamey told him about Daddy being in the hospital, Santa Claus looked confused and Jamey had to explain what a hospital was. Surely, he ought to know about hospitals. Didn't he bring presents to the children in the hospital? But Santa Claus shook his head. “I can only go where I am invited,” he said.
Jamey didn't properly understand this, but he explained as best he could what a hospital was, where it was, and what it looked like. Santa Claus took hold of both Jamey's hands and he said, “I'll do my best, Jamey.”
