Derek Newark/Nemo James was born in London and had a normal childhood. He always had a love of music and women. He has a great zest for life and a need to learn about all different types of music.

Nemo James’ life has been an interesting trip from the music world to the world of computers and finally to the life of an author. He has travelled the world and met many interesting people, both the famous and not so famous, and this is his story.

I really enjoyed Mr. James’ anecdotal telling of his life story. The chapters are short and each tells its own story, though they are in chronological order. This is a fascinating look into the life of a working musician who was almost famous a few times. He is a very interesting man who survived many trends in the music world and then reinvented himself not only once but twice. He has a way of writing that makes me feel as if he were just having a conversation with the reader. His writing style is warm and often funny, and his descriptions of friends, lovers and fellow musicians are vivid.
