As a Minnesota native, if it’s not 20 degree below zero with at least 4 feet of snow outside, it just isn’t Christmas!

Hi everyone! My name is April Holthaus and I am an author of Scottish Historical Romance. Just this winter, I celebrated publishing my sixth book called Stars and Stones; a novella featured in the box set: Enchanted Highlands.

I absolutely love this time of year. Not because of the music, decorations or even getting together with friends and family, but because of the “feel“ of Christmas. This time of year, though it may be stressful for many, it brings a sense of peace and joy. It’s a time to remember to slow down, take time to help out a friend, or just simply remembering to tell someone that you love them. We get so busy during our daily lives that many of us lose sight of what is really important. Living!

Growing up in a small town with little money, presents were quite scarce under my tree. But it wasn’t the presents I remember. In fact, I can’t think of one gift I ever received. What I remember the most was spending time with my dad. A man who prides himself of his strong work ethic, always worked and was never home. But Christmas was one day I remember him being there. With his bright orange Ford truck, he would plow mountains of snow for us to climb and help us build forts and snowmen.

My wish this year is to bring joy to my young son. He is just under two and even though he may not yet completely understand what Christmas means and who that big fat guy is in the red suit, but I am sure he will enjoy ripping open the presents!
