What’s been your single greatest challenge following publication? The Twenty-first Century Author

Morgan Hannah MacDonald

Keeping the sales up.

 Vicky Dreiling

There is always some challenge while writing a book. I have not had any issues with the business side.

Donnell Ann Bell

Marketing and promotion. With the sea of authors and books available these days, authors must constantly market and promote to let readers know the books are available.  I want to write and to keep producing.  To constantly market, promote as well as produce are major challenges.

Laurin Wittig

Marketing, though once Montlake republished two of my books, this has been much less of a challenge since they are so good at the marketing. I still do some marketing of my books myself, but now I can do what I want to and don’t have the pressure of it all being on my shoulders. I also now belong to a cooperative of historical romance authors, the Jewels of Historical Romance, which makes marketing a lot easier, too.

Suzan Tisdale

Dealing with piracy and trolls.

Kat Martin

Thinking up a story as good as the last one.

Tanya Anne Crosby

Without a doubt, it’s the lack of time to do it all, and I don’t find self-promotion easy. I’ve never been much of a horn tooter for my own benefit, but I have to force myself to get past that. Because let’s face it, if you’re not with a publishing house, the buck stops with you.

Benjamin Wallace

Marketing and promotions. What works one day won’t the next. The ebook market is also continuously changing and staying up with the latest information can be time consuming and swear-at-the-world frustrating.

Catherine Bybee

Time Management! I have contracts, deadlines, blog tours, conventions”¦ I love my job but my office is always a mess and my To Do list is long. I have hired a assistant who I love and depend on for more than I care to admit.
