Thirteen Actors/Characters I Think Are Excellent Candidates for Book Heros/Heroines:

Okay this may be a wild ride for some of you as I have a very diverse selection that moves from the eighties through today with some of today’s stars in little known or forgotten roles of times they would probably rather forget.  See of you agree with my selections and maybe share some of your own.

1.  Van Diesel:  Can you imagine this man on a book cover?  Yummm!  Seriously, I was reading a book the other day and every time the hero came up all I could see was this sexy man.  My favorite character for him is as Xander Cage in XXX.  I must tell you that I wore out my first copy of the DVD and the next one is on its way to retirement.  I would jump off a bridge any day with this man/character by my side.

2.  Keanu Reeves:  Okay this may be apparent to some who were born after 1990 but for those of us who remember Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure then you will probably remember Keanu in Paul Abdul’s Music Video “Rush, Rush”.  Holly crap let me tell you every teenage girl in America stood up and took notice of that one.  But the sexiest character he ever played was the hero on Speed.  If I had to be on a runaway bus headed for disaster please book him a seat.

3.  William Petersen:  Okay this is for the geek in me.  Who could resist Gill Grissom when he got on his science investigator kick?  But the real gem is once again for those of us who can remember before 1990; does anyone remember To Live and Die in L.A?  Oh if you have never had the pleasure then run, don’t walk to IMDB and look it up.  Now that is the Gil Grissom I want on my book cover.  I challenge everyone to look just to see how no matter the age this is one hot man.

4.  Gary Dourdan:  If you are a CSI fan then you will recognize this name as he played the extremely drool worthy Warrick Brown.  But wait, once again my favorite role for him was a lesser known role in a Janet Jackson video for “Again”.  I know it may be a bit before your time or you may not be familiar with Janet Jackson but head on over to YouTube and look it up.  You will never regret it.  

5.  Mel Gibson:  Some of you may look at the Mel of today and think I have been sipping the whiskey but for this one you have to go back to before 1990.  Anyone heard of Mad Max or Lethal Weapon??  How about the Bounty with Anthony Hopkins?  If you are lacking the education of Mel in these roles then check out IMDB and look for yourself.  Some of the roles are long forgotten by some but those of us who could appreciate sexy men even when you were 12 (like me) then this one is for you. 

6&7.   Bruce Willis/Allyce Beasley:  This may seem like a no brainer but I have to say I am going to shock you once again and take you on a ride in my time machine.  We have arrived back in 1985 and we are sitting in front of our little 13″ television with no remote and we are waiting for Moonlighting.  Does anyone remember this show where David Addison set our pants on fire and you always wondered if Madie Hayes had received a recent cat scan because she had to be crazy for passing up the hunk in the office across the hall? 

Now that we are there in our minds I must tell you that the best character in this show was Agnes DiPesto who was played by Allyce Beasley.  She is my number seven choice because the character in this show was the bomb.  She was sweet, funny, loyal, pretty, silly, ditsy, and the list goes on which makes her a perfect heroine.  She took this character through the roof and to the moon. 

8/9/10/11.  These four selections are from my favorite television show Star Trek: The Next Generation.  Can you guess who they are?  Well to end the suspense I will tell you they are : Deana Troi played by Marina Sirtis, William T. Riker played by Jonathan Frakes (duh), Captain Jean-Luc Picard (again, duh), and finally hold onto your coffee cups because my final selection is Worf played by Michael Dorn.  Yes you are reading correctly WORF.  This character is hot, hot, hot.  Who can resist Mr. Moody, grab your hair and growl type of man?  Also, the behind on that man in uniform is a true work of art and a sexy thing of beauty that should be worshipped.  I shocked you with that one I am sure but if you like paranormal or futuristic books then insert the picture of this character and your heat level becomes incendiary. 

12 & 13.  These last two characters come from The Mummy.  I bet you can guess what I am going to say but I will tell you anyway”¦.  Brendan Fraser as Richard O’Connel  and Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay.  But I must tell you that I struggled with this one because Rachel Weisz as Evy Carnahan is one of the best heroine roles of all time.  But alas I am a woman so the men have to win out.  I would ride of in the desert to nowhere on the back of a camel if either or both of these sexy men were the driver.  How about you?
