To celebrate the release of the The Rebellion Engines, the thrilling conclusion to The Gunpowder Chronicles saga, I’m giving away special Steampunk book box!
I love curating themed boxes with books and goodies. As I was putting this one together, all of the sudden I thought: Well, this plain white box isn’t going to look very impressive.
So I thought I’d label it. And then, once I started doodling, it was way more fun than the rest of the stuff I had to do that evening. So this happened…
Steampunk themed goody box
This steampunk box will be stuffed with adventure and geekiness. You’ll also get some original Jeannie Lin pencil sketchery on the outside as a bonus (I highly suggest the winner save this. I might be famous one day and then won’t you feel silly for trashing my hand drawings?)
This giveaway also gives me an opportunity to highlight two authors who helped me out on The Rebellion Engines.
The Rebellion Engines features adventure on the high seas around the treaty ports of Shanghai and Ningpo. This was a time when the Chinese coastline was swarming with pirates fighting pirates as well as foreign naval fleets and all sorts of merchants. It was the golden Age of Sail.
The problem? I know nothing about boats or sailing!
Luckily, I knew some wonderful people who not only had that knowledge, but they are wonderful authors who have penned amazing adventure tales. So the giveaway will include a print copy of Mad For Love, a historical tale of art thievery and madcap misadventure by the fabulous Elizabeth Essex. The lucky winner will also get Flight of Thieves, a post-apocalyptic steampunk journey by airship by David Bridger.

3 years agoI do love your doodles 🙂 My friend and I found this place in Universal a few years ago – the Chocolate Emporium. Its a restaurant and chocolatier and also kind of dinner theatre sort of thing? They have characters walking around embellishing the “theme” of the restaurant and giving more details of the world built for the restaurant (https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/toothsome-chocolate-emporium-and-savory-feast-kitchen). Its a lot of fun with great desserts and drink pairings (plus regular food).
