Dylan Gallagher watches another brother get married, knowing he is the last Gallagher bachelor standing. He does not believe there is a woman out there who he would give up all others for. Then he meets Dr. Samantha Striker.

Samantha has given up on men and the closest she gets to a date is her fictional boyfriend. When she meets Dylan, she is shocked to find he is the man of her dreams, except she has been burned in the past by players like him. Strangely, for all his wandering ways, he is well liked, even by the women he dated and left behind.

Dylan says they are involved but she is willing to deny it because it scares her to admit she just may be falling for him. Will Dylan be willing to commit to a future with Samantha? Will a shadow from her past prevent any future between the two from beginning?

The Cowboy and the Doctor is a very good read. The characters are fully formed and the setting is vivid. The reader is able to fully integrate into the story and never feels as if they have missed anything from the other books in the series. I will warn the reader will want to go and read about the other Gallagher Brothers.
