Tell Me Your Favorites!

If you're here today, participating in a Book Brew with the theme of "Crime and Punishment," you probably love reading romantic suspense, detective novels, mysteries, thrillers, or all of the above.

Who are some of your favorite crime and punishment authors?

I tend toward romantic adventure, with Suzanne Brockmann topping the list. I'll also snap up Shannon Stacey, MJ Fredrick, and Roxanne St. Claire. Oh, and of course, JD Robb. 🙂 I'm digging Shannon K. Butcher's Edge series…and speaking of, I'd put her husband's books on this list, too. Jim Butcher's Dresden Files are urban fantasy with a PI protagonist whose cases go just a bit beyond finding missing people. C.E. Murphy falls in this category, too. For mysteries I love Misty Simon (raise your hand if you want another Ivy novel!) and Julie Moffett, whose Lexi Charmichael series rides the adventure line.

But it doesn't stop at books!

I claim I don't have much interest in crime dramas on TV. And yet… I watch Castle, Unforgettable, Bones, Fringe, The Mentalist, Alcatraz, and The Firm. They all have something extra, though, that the CSIs and the Criminal Minds and Law and Orders don't have. Castle has, of course, Nathan Fillion. Unforgettable has the memory thing. Bones is mainly about the characters (like all these shows are, of course), and Fringe has all that sci-fi science. I admit I'm behind on Alcatraz and The Firm, both of which are probably not going to be renewed, but the time travel mystery and the dual threads of chronology have kept me interested.

Your turn! Tell me what authors and TV shows you like best!
