Robin has no idea who she is and no one is filling in the blanks for her. One man claims to be her husband, but he makes her uncomfortable. Another man looks at her like she means the world to him, but there is another waiting in the shadows.
Preacher has known Robin for most of her life and has spent two years searching for her when others told him to stop. He is shocked to find Robin remembers nothing of their past, and the man who wants her is still out there.
Robin and Preacher are separated by a past she cannot remember and an uncertain future. When Robin begins to remember, all she discovers is betrayal and love, but she has no idea which way to turn. Can Robin and Preacher find a way back to each other or will the monster in the shadows forever keep them apart?
I love the writing of Ms. Crescent but this book just confused me. I would suggest reading the first book and it may help you to understand what is going on in this one. Robin is a confusing character because I do not understand how she could be in love with Preacher and then love the man who kidnapped her who I am assuming raped her until she got pregnant. I am unsure at what point she got amnesia because it alludes to her loving the man who kidnapped her. I was left feeling like I did not understand any of the characters except Preacher and all I felt for him is sorry that he had crappy people around him. The author built him just right and his character is a wonderful man stuck in a really crappy situation with not exit in sight; his woman loves another, his son is a psychopath, and his friends just wanted him to give up on finding his woman despite the fact they knew how much he loves her. His character is well developed and a man any woman would want because he fights for those he loves.
