Lady Lydia Torrance is the daughter of a Marquess and very interested in two things: architecture and Lord Oliver Farlisle, not necessarily in that order.

Lord Oliver Farlisle, Earl of Roxwaithe, is devoted to his duties to his estates and Parliament and little else. He thinks he is too old for Lydia.

Lady Lydia has grown up knowing that she will one day marry Oliver. She spent the better part of her childhood in his company, but he rejected her on her eighteenth birthday. She spent the next two years on the Continent and is now back and taking London by storm. Every eligible man in the Ton is courting her, except the one she wants. She knows Oliver loves her, she just has to make him see that he is not too old for her.

This is a well written and well researched historical romance. It is as if the author has lived in Regency London herself. This book is a bit racier than the average Regency romance, so if you are looking for the usual G rated romance, this is not one of those. But, if you are looking for a well written historical romance with vivid characters and an excellent and engrossing plot, this book is for you. There is an odd epilogue that could have used a bit more explanation, but I liked this book enough to purchase the previous novel and I look forward to reading it.
