I just emailed my Melange Book Yahoo group and told them about my blogging. Hope they stop over and say Hi or try to win a book.  Now for another poem.  I work for Hampton Inn and Suites in Ohio and here is a poem from my experience there. Hope you enjoy it.

BEING A LAUNDRESS

Being a laundress is not very glamorous.

Its hot and sweaty and doesn’t pay well.

Joined by the nicks and cuts, can be quiet hazardous.

My shoulders ache, and my size nines swell.

Between the pulling and pushing and lifting too,

my back’s out of whack and my face turns blue.

You can be old. Or you can be young.

But its always hard work and never much fun.

You can be short and small or large and tall,

but must stand for hours until the work is done.

It’s not an easy job, I must admit,

but can keep one physically fit.

Between the smell of the soap, stain remover and bleach.

I wanna throw in the towel and scream “I’ve had it.’

My job is no picnic I beseech,

and rant and raving might be a sin,

but when my shift is over,

all I do is grin.

The ride home is also no joy.

Between the noise and pollution,

all I can say is “oh boy.’

Maybe my job is its own contribution.

For whether I have cause to cry or vent,

the sight of my front door is heaven sent.

I have worked as a laundress for more than one company.

It is hard work, but I do enjoy it. I certainly had worse jobs.
