My mom was ahead of her time so occasionally she would embarrass me. Sometimes she just covered my back and sometimes she just surprised me.

I was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado a Military Police Lieutenant when my mom came to pin my Captain’s bars on me at my promotion. That afternoon and evening the celebration continued at the Officer’s Club and a good time was had by all. My mom said that she was leaving and to expect her when I saw her.

The next morning she said she had a great time.

Months later during one of our regular telephone calls I was complaining to her about an officer that I worked with. I don’t remember why or who, but my mom said that if I had any more problems with him to let her know and she would take care of it!!!

She’s no long with us and I love and miss her still.
