I'm sitting here drinking coffee and watching AMC's Fright Fest while my partner, Julia, puts the finishing touches on the Halloween decorations.

We've been celebrating all month — with candy corn lights, ghosts, a graveyard in the front, stuffed monsters and witches.

I love Halloween. I love the cooler weather (hey, 90 is cooler than 110). Jack-o-lanterns. My creepy witch doll that talks to you when you walk up to the front door.

Then there's the costumes — this year we're dressing our goddaughter as a ladybug. 😀 I adore the little ones in their tiny costumes. (And, okay, I admit, I like to go down to 6th street and see the big-boy costumes, too. Conan the Barbarian, anyone?)

Best of all, I love the scary movies all the time. Final Destination, Village of the Damned, Deep Blue Sea — You name it, we've watched it, cackling madly all the way.
