Hello – what a great event this is! I won’t be able to stay to join in the fun as much as would like but I did want to draw your attention to a wonderful edge-of-the seat suspense novella by my dear friend, the late Sharon Donovan.
Oh, perhaps I’d better introduce myself to those who don’t know me. My name is Hywela Lyn (my real first two names which I’ve adopted as my pen name, although friends and family always call me Lyn).
As a UK author, I was lucky enough to call Sharon one of my closest friends, even though we never actually met. I was amazed and inspired by her courage, although suffering from diabetes from an early age, and having lost her sight in her early twenties, she had a zest for living and did not let her lack of vision get in her way, penning several romantic suspense novels as well as some beautiful inspirational romances. Together with another friend, Mary Ricksen, we ran a ‘fun’ blog to promote other authors ‘The Author Roast and Toast, which is still running, as a memorial to her, with four new author hostesses. Last year Mary and I arranged to meet up in Pittsburgh, so we could visit our dear friend Sharon and her family. Alas this was not to be and sadly Sharon passed away a month before I was due to fly over. However, I still made the trip and met Mary in person for the first time, as well as Sharon’s lovely sister, Mary Beth and Sharon’s dear parents. While we were at Sharon’s home, we found a story on her computer, and thanks to Wild Rose Press editor, the wonderful Lori Graham, Kiss Of Death was published just over a year ago, on December the 5th. The story is set at Christmas and would make a great Christmas gift for someone’s Kindle. It stars Oliver, who is not only a character in Kiss of Death and another novella by Sharon ‘Charade Of Hearts’ but ‘moonlighted’ on the Author Roast and Toast and broke many a lady visitor’s heart with his charm and good looks.
Here is an excerpt from KISS OF DEATH,which can be purchased HERE together with Sharon’s other WRP stories.
There’s also a free copy up for grabs for one lucky commenter and both ‘Charade Of Hearts’ and ‘Kiss Of Death’ are currently offered at a 25% discount at The Wild Rose Press.

978-1-61217-682-6 DigitalExcerpt:He flashed his badge and offered a cheeky smile. “Detective Oliver Sharoné, New Orleans P.D., Homicide. Are you Camille Lafayette?”
Lulled by the patois of Cajun French in his voice, Camille just stood there, mouth agape. Now that she could clearly see him, he had the most dazzling smile she’d ever seen.
“Ma’am?”
His lyrical voice was music to her ears. A rush of hormones surged through her, leaving her weak in the knees. Feeling a burning gush of desire, she forced herself to nod, running her tongue through a very dry mouth and pushing out the words. “Yes, I’m Camille Lafayette. Is there a problem, Detective?”
Thunder and lightning crashed and collided, wilder and wilder, echoing the primitive beat of her heart. Silhouetted by roiling thunderclouds, Detective Oliver Sharoné looked like a dark and dangerous warrior. Dizzy and lightheaded, feeling drunk with emotion, Camille was as highly charged as the electrical storm.
“May I come in for a moment, Ms. Lafayette? I would like to ask you a few questions in regard to a murder I’m investigating.”
Camille’s breath caught in her throat. A bolt of panic surged through her. Shaken by the impact, she stammered for words and said nothing. Her pulse fluttered wildly in the hollow of her throat. This sexy cop was about to turn her world upside down.
