Good morning Coffee Timers!
It has been awhile since I was here but a few may remember my alter ego “AZGaye” who hosted Book Brew for several years. I know I enjoyed those days and I hope the readers and authors who took part did also. But the time to retire came and I moved off in some other directions.
Today after a long hiatus, I’m back–in my Deirdre O’Dare garb this time. It’s been a somewhat traumatic couple of years as I lost two publishers. Fellow writers will understand that this all-too-common shock is almost like a death in your close circle. The relationships you form with your editors, cover artists and the rest of the staff are strong and often develop into deep friendships. It’s hard to pick up and continue.
Fortunately I have gotten on board with another great publisher where I have felt at home from the start. JMS Books bills them selves as “A queer small press.” They do specialize in LGBTQ fiction, especially gay and lesbian romances of all heat levels. They also publish some other fiction as well including YA books which are not ever explicit of ‘X-rated.” Here is a link to their home page: http://www.jms-books.com/
I feel very blessed to have landed there and found a home for my tales orphaned by the demise of Amber Quill and more recently Loose Id. My near term goal is to get back my groove and start producing some new things; it has been hard to do this recently due to some personal issues to include vision problems and a writers’ block the size of Alaska!
Anyway, I’m really excited to have several on my favorite–and former best seller–“Canine Cupid” stories coming out at JMS in the near future. Loose Id had combined six, two old and one new in each of two collections and then closed not long after the second was released. So I know a lot of my old readers did not have a chance to read Dogjacked or New Leash on Life. They’re in the queue and will be released shortly. Stay tuned for more details on that! Meanwhile, I’ll dish on Doggone Love which hit the internet this past Saturday! It was the very first one and has been out of print for a long time!
