Welcome! Grab your favorite coffee, pull up a chair and snuggle in for a long, lazy day of idle romance chatter. Because really, what could be better than a good long chat about our favorite topic? Well, MY favorite topic anyway.
I’m excited to be guest blogging on Coffee, Books & a Blog today and I can’t wait to dish with all of you about my brand new book, some interesting new ideas, and everything in between. For those of you I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Kaitlin Maitland. As you might have guessed, I’m a writer. So I could say that I’m a spinner of tales or a weaver of delectable webs of intrigue, or something equally mysterious and sexy. But really, being a writer isn’t always glamorous, chic, or even rewarding. Yes. I said it. Sometimes I think I’m crazy and should go get a regular day job. But a long time ago I realized that I write because I can’t NOT write. And to this day that is my answer when someone asks if they should try to get a book published. Because if you write just for fun, or on a lark, or because you’ve nothing else to do, or because someone told you that you can tell a decent story, it isn’t enough. Writing is passion! And it’s both good and bad. It can whisper sweet words of prose into your ear one moment, and then knock you on your ass and stomp on your face the next.
When my muse isn’t abusing me, it’s quite the creative imp. My books cover Sci-Fi, Contemporary and Suspense genres and I’d love to branch out and try even more. I write both sweet and erotic romance. The kind that makes you smile and the kind that makes you sweat. And I deviate from all known formulas whenever possible. My characters are completely flawed and as realistic as I can possibly make them.
So- come and go as you like, but keep stopping by as I’ll be giving away one copy of each of my books before the day is through. And drop me a comment or two. I’d love to hear your thoughts on spicy romance. What do you like to read? Do you like sassy heroines who make the hero grit his teeth or sweet women with big hearts for sexy men who are rough around the edges?

15 years agoI read a little of everything, historical is my favorite but I do get tired of them too. So I try to switch around with contemporary, paranormal, romantic suspense, mystery and exrotic. I hit on a little of everything. Also like to change it up with the hero and heroine, I don’t want them to be the same all the time.

There’s so much out there to pick from you can always find something to suit the mood of the day, or week, or even year. I can remember reading nothing but historicals set in Scotland one particular year, and then the following it was like something tripped a switch in my head and they were all Westerns.
