I’ve posted some fairly personality-free posts about my new novella, Parable of Weeds. I wanted to say a little about myself, too. I’ve been a writer of literary fiction for some time. My most recent novel, American Poet, won a 2013 Michigan Notable Book Award from the Library of Michigan. Parable of Weeds is quite a departure for me from literary fiction…although I think it has some literary elements. It is futuristic and dystopian. If you liked Hunger Games, you may like Parable of Weeds. Like Hunger Games, Parable of Weeds posits a possible future for us. I would say, however, that Parable of Weeds is more for adults. And it’s shorter. And less violent.
We are also looking for folks who have book blogs that might want to review the book. Send me an email if that’s you: jeffvandezande@gmail.com

Hmmm… this is my last post, so I should say more.
I have two pugs (people like hearing that for some reason). I teach writing at Delta College, where I also teach screenwriting.
Well, I hope some folks take a chance on Parable of Weeds.
This post wasn’t exactly full of personality either, now was it?
