Easter makes me think of colorful plastic baskets filled with yellow peeps, candy eggs, a chocolate bunny and jelly beans. Sometimes it was a cute little stuffed bunny. We all had our favorites, and Cadbury eggs were, and still are, mine. I also think about the religious TV movies my mom loved so much that only seemed to come on during Easter time. Then there was the tasty ham dinner, and the desserts. A family favorite was dump cake, so I thought I’d share the recipe, which is so freaking easy you don’t need to write it down. I had this cake for the first time about 40 years ago when my step-mother made it. I’m sure some of you have heard of it but just in case, here’s the deets.
Moving on I’d like to take a minute to talk about my latest release, King. Last year I decided to write a short romance series about couples who find love later in their lives. Folks who find themselves single for whatever reasons when they’re in their forties and fifties. Cody, book 2 comes out later this year. These are steamy, small-town Maine, later-in-life novellas.
Blurb – King and Mia aren’t strangers. Everyone knows everyone in the small Maine town they live in, however, their age difference kept them from traveling in the same circle when they were growing up. Brief glimpses and encounters, a long-distance look, and their attraction was palpable but never acted on because of their marital statuses.
Twenty years have gone by, and this is the first time they are both single at the same time. That freedom allows them to pursue and act on their insane attraction, and nothing holds them back. It’s instant. It’s hot. And it changes everything.

Dump Cake
Ingredients
- 1 can Crushed or chunky pineapple with juice
- 1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling.
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick butter
- Walnuts (as many or as little as you want)
Instructions
- Dump in the pineapple and spread it around. Dump the pie filling on top of the pineapple and spread it around. Spread the whole box of dry cake mix on top of that. Cut up the butter and add it on top of the dry cake mix and then add the walnuts. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes but keep watch, once the cake and walnuts look done it's probably done. It's normal for some of the cake mix to still be dry underneath the top. This is a yummy dessert for any occasion.
