I’m Sapphire Phelan and I am excited to be stopping at Coffee Time Romance today on my blog tour here for my new erotic paranormal romance short, Ain’t Nothin’ Like Succubus Lovin’. Once again, I write a paranormal with demons in it. Lately, it seems that the demons are demanding that I write them in my romances.
What is different about this paranormal over my others from Phaze Books and other publishers, especially my last urban fantasy with demons, Being Familiar With a Witch is the humor in it. Now, in the past, I thought I could not write humor. Then something like this book comes along to prove me wrong. I did do a couple of short stories under my other writing name, Pamela K. Kinney, that were humorous, proving me wrong. But with romance, eroticism, the paranormal, and humor all rolled up in one story?
Humor is not easy to write. Not well done stuff anyway. Look at all those romantic comedy films and the romance novels with humorous overtones. Some are good, but then there are those that fall flat of the punch line. I hope my new story doesn’t fall flat on its face and that the readers enjoy it. After all, the storyline just smacks of having to be humorous. When a man is desperate enough that he doesn’t think he wants a meaningful relationship with any woman (after all he just got out of a bad marriage) and borrows a friend’s A Dummy’s Guides to Demon Summoning so that he can call up a succubus for a night of sex, it smacks of comedy. But when he gets more than a one-night stand and falls in love with the demon that is when the romance steps in. He wasn’t looking for love, but he found it anyway.
What is your favorite romantic comedy, either film or romance book? Do you think humor works well with romance? Do you think it can work well with demons mixed in the romance?

Ain’t Nothin’ Like Succubus Lovin’ Blurb:
Finding a date was never more hellish. When Jordan Hudson borrowed his friend’s A Dummy’s Guide to Demon Summoning and called up a succubus, he found that dating and making love to a minion of Hell proves to be more than a one night stand.

What’s Next?
I just turned in the second novella in the Beast Magic series (which is in Shifting Desires anthology that you can find here at Coffee Time at http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookStore/index.php?main_page=pubs_product_book_info&cPath=62&products_id=1826. This time it will be male/male and has wereleopards. You met one of the heroes in Beast Magic: Montsho. So it will be interracial also and in first person. The last one the series will be back to male/female, with werewolves. And the hero for that was introduced in the second novella. Plus I will be starting to work on the sequel to Being Familiar With a Witch.

15 years ago AUTHORI like to thank Coffee Time Romance for letting me do a guest blog here today.
I have been writing erotic romance since 2005 when my first story was published in an ezine. But I have been writing longer than that under my other name. I actually got published at age 17 with three poems in a print magazine, Hyacinths and Biscuits. 🙂

15 years agoI would have to say 50 First Dates…. I love that movie, and I know that most people wouldn’t call this a “romance” but the Underworld movies w/vamp and the wolf hybred, lol

15 years agoYou just defined my perfect recipe for a great read….romance, eroticism, the paranormal, and humor (snarky, of course!) in just the right balance. That’s the tricky part 😉
I’d love to try your succubus story…it sounds fun 🙂
