Gardens do not have just dirt and plants.  They also have a bunch of wishes for a cold frame, a bench, or a compost box for just a few.  This book is designed for beginners with no elaborate workshop or a lot of equipment.   The designs are simplified in techniques and construction methods for a contemporary look.

Each of the 72 projects was origtinally designed in response to a need.  After looking at this book, I have discovered that I need a number of items.  The book also provides a list of tools that I absolutely need.  

 These wood projects have been shop-tested.  You will find robust construction and safety tips.  A drawing, a cutting list, a shopping list, dozens of pictures and thorough written instructions. 

I bought the book because I plan to make one of these projects one of these days.   That was a few years ago, but the projects are apparently timeless because I still want to make them.
