Jessica O’Connor is an American dental hygienist. She went to school in England with an eye to becoming a teacher, but things did not work out that way. She recently broke up with her Scottish fiancé.
Grey Dixon is a computer geek and Jess’s best friend since college. He is rather quiet, but good-looking in a nerdy kind of way. He has always been in love with Jess and would rather be her love than her bestie.
Grey is in Oregon for his brother’s wedding. He has asked his best friend Jess to be his plus one and Jess is happy to join him. The two have always been attracted to one another, but a disappointing first attempt at sex made them fall back on being friends. Unbeknownst to them, the wedding to held at AuNaturel, a clothing optional resort and one of her friends has brought her ex as a guest. Grey’s crazy brother and his future in-laws are sure to make this a week no one will ever forget.
This book is a stand-alone that brings together characters from Ms. Durand’s three series. The unique setting makes for all kinds of hilarious situations and when you throw in the colorful McTaggart clan, it only adds to the fun. Grey and Jess kind of fade into the background at times, but that does suit their characters. Grey definitely comes into his own by the end of the book. I particularly enjoyed the Highland Games.
