I had a hard time with Pamela because she is a very selfish and self-centered character. She is way past the age where running away is the answer, but she keeps avoiding being adult and choosing her life. Eric is a man who truly loves his woman and lives by the adage if you love something set it free and if it is yours it will come back to you. Ms. McGier is a talented writer because even though I did not like one of the main characters, I had to keep reading the story. She wrote Pamela in a way the reader finds themselves in a love hate relationship right along with Eric.
