THE RIGHT CHOICE
October 2020 (Previously release as the Reluctant Bride Apr 2011)
Rating: 3 Cups
Pamela has spent her life making her parents happy, which has led her to doing the runaway bride. All she wanted was one day where her man focused on her, but instead he takes a call while she is walking down the aisle. She runs to the one place no one would think to look for her.
Eric sees Pamela has run from her perfect life once again. He figures there is no way she would go to the one place she could hide, but he takes a chance and heads out to his family’s cabin, and sure enough, she is there. He is tired of her ripping his heart out so this time he will help an old friend, but he would never give her anymore of himself.
Sometimes walking away from a bad decision comes back to haunt you. When Pamela’s past comes back to haunt her, the only one she thinks will save her is the one man who has always loved her, but can he get to her in time?
I had a hard time with Pamela because she is a very selfish and self-centered character. She is way past the age where running away is the answer, but she keeps avoiding being adult and choosing her life. Eric is a man who truly loves his woman and lives by the adage if you love something set it free and if it is yours it will come back to you. Ms. McGier is a talented writer because even though I did not like one of the main characters, I had to keep reading the story. She wrote Pamela in a way the reader finds themselves in a love hate relationship right along with Eric.
