Dakota is a world renowned jewelry designer, or she was until an accident limited the use of her hands. She almost lost everything and is determined to restart her career.

Adam is a famous professional soccer player. He is nearing the end of his career, but hopes to have one or two more good years before starting a new career in broadcasting.

Adam is home in Cherry Creek to help his parents out. His father is recovering from a serious heart ailment and needs someone to run the family realty business. Dakota is renting Galloway cottage. She is starting over after an accident nearly robbed her of the use of her hand. Her fiancé left her when the money ran out, so she is really starting all over. Her parents were supportive but smothering, so she moved to the hometown of her half-sister and nephew.

I enjoyed this story very much. I would have liked a little more background on Dakota and her family; the author hints at a great many things that are not fully explained, such as the nature of her accident. The Town of Cherry Lake is full of interesting residents and the subplot of the Christmas tree contest and the restoration of the Grange was almost as engrossing as the main plotline. Dakota and Adam’s sweet romance is perfect for the holiday season.
