I wonder if everyone is at work, or perhaps some of you are in a different time zone and still asleep…..as I still have not had one question or comment made. So, I will continue with discussing my novel, Until One Day. This novel is written in a novella style. This book takes place all on one day, Christmas Eve. I never have advertised this as a Christmas book as I believe that it can hold its own in any season. You meet each character, during their entire day, in their own chapter. Each character has a serious problem that they are dealing with, yet each holds their head up high and hides their problem behind the mask of a smile. It isn’t until the last chapter that you see how each has crossed each other’s path during the day and how they impacted one another’s lives.
The setting for this novel is in NYC. They say you write what you know. I had entered this novel in a Writers Digest novel contest, and in one of the judge’s review they said that it was an excellent choice for a book club as it would elicit much discussion. And, I must say, they enjoyed the novel.
I love each of the characters I created in this story. There is Sydney, a young female attorney. Then you have Patrick, a WW II veteran, Sister Georgiana, a teacher at an all girls parochial high school, and Christa, a girl from Upstate N.Y. You will be fascinated to read in the last chapter how such different characters can touch each other’s life and change it completely.
