Animals in Books by Maggie Blackbird

Who doesn’t love animals? I’m right up there as a big, big animal lover. The hubby and I always had Alaskan Malamutes. Currently, we have two, and they live up to all the bad behaviour Mals are known for LOL.

At times, I also feature animals in my stories. For my Thanksgiving Collection, the hero and heroine both have pets. In story one, Thanks to You, we meet Shamon, Tripp’s pet dog. In the second story, Because of You, we also meet Miss Kitty, Paulina’s cat. And yes, besides the hero and heroine trying to resolve their differences, the animals also must make peace with each other LOL.

I enjoy reading about animals in books, too. I recall reading a few K9 series. They are romantic suspense, and always my fave to see the dog taking on a co-starring role. Ten times out of ten, they also steal the show.

In my upcoming release, Born Like This, book two in the Maizemerized series, my heroine’s dog sneaks back with her in time, much to her displeasure, since she wishes to keep him safe. But the dog, Theodore, knows when he’s needed, and he’s not about to let his mistress sneak off to a dangerous time without him.

What about you? Do you love seeing pets in romance novels?

Meet the Author
An Ojibway from Northwestern Ontario, Maggie resides in the country with her husband and their fur babies, two beautiful Alaskan Malamutes. When she’s not writing, she can be found pulling weeds in the flower beds, mowing the huge lawn, walking the Mals deep in the bush, teeing up a ball at the golf course, fishing in the boat for walleye, or sitting on the deck at her sister’s house, making more wonderful memories with the people she loves most.
