About My Writing & What’s Coming Next!

So, thus far I’ve told you what I’ve done. Now, I figure I’ll talk a bit about what’s coming up!

I am finishing up my very first novel, a Sword & Sorcery paranormal romance.  I’ve decided that I am going to pursue the print dream, and I’m settling myself in for a longish wait on that one. It’s sort of a scary decision I admit. Print these days is getting harder to break into (and it was never easy).  Even if (when – being positive here) it gets signed by a publisher, print takes a long time. We are talking two to three years from signed contract to book in hand. Since I’m used to the relative speed of epubs, this is going to be killer.  Still, I want to know I at least tried for print. If I try and it doesn’t work, well, thank heavens epubs exist is all I can say. At least my book will be available for sale in some way.

Once I get that done I’m going back to getting stories for the epub market. I have several short stories in various stages of done-ness, from near complete to one sentence ideas.

My short stories are whatever idea comes to my mind, which is what makes them so much fun to write. The ones that I have almost complete are a nice mix, including a FWB menage, a foul-mouthed nymph who is given an assignment to seduce a virgin, another fairy tale retelling – this time Red Riding Hood – and finally a lesbian vampire story.

As with any writer, I have way too many stories in my mind, a mix of both novel-length and short. So once those short stories are out in the world, I’ll need to evaluate where I am in my career and see where to go from there. Since I’m at the very beginning of my career, everything is wide open right now.

Where to find me. Well, I hope to keep my relationship with Ellora’s Cave for a long time, they’ve been very good to me. But I also hope to be part of a couple other epub families as well, and this next year will be devoted to creating new relationships and expanding my readership base.

Alright, we are getting to the end! One final blog post after this and my day at Coffee Time Romance will be over! Thanks everyone for sticking with me so far  🙂
