Stephanie R. Caffrey
Welcome, today we are talking with Stephanie R. Caffrey! I would like to thank you for taking time out of your busy writing schedule to answer a few questions. First, let`s delve into who you are. Some of the questions may be untraditional but you’d be surprised at what readers connect to, and sometimes the simplest ‘I can relate to that’ grabs their interest where nothing else can.
Can you share a little something about yourself that’s not mentioned in your bio on your website?
I was born and raised in Southern California before moving to Iowa for college. I met my husband my first semester and decided to stay here.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing since I was about nine years old, but seriously writing original fiction since about 2010.
What have you found most challenging about it?
Mostly finding the time to actually sit down and write.
What does writing do for you? Is it fun, cathartic, do you get emotional?
Writing is a lot of fun. I love sitting down at my computer and allowing characters and worlds just spill from my brain into the document. Seeing these characters come to life is amazing.
Describe what your writing routine looks like. Are you disciplined with a strict schedule or do you have to be in the mood?
I wish I could be a more disciplined writer, but because I’m a mom of two kids and I work full time, I mostly write whenever I can find time. Sometimes it’s during a break at work, or it’s at night after the kids go to bed. Fifteen minutes here, twenty minutes there. Whatever time I can get, I use it.
Did you go into writing thinking that it would be a hobby or a job?
I mostly wrote because it was a fun hobby. I wrote a lot of fanfiction, and it was a lot of fun, and I loved getting reviews from other people, so I decided to move that hobby into original fiction.
What inspires you?
My friends and family. I use a lot of them in the characters in my books.
Let`s move on and give readers some insight into your personal life.
What are your pet peeves?
People who sit outside their house and rev their car or motorcycle engines.
Who is your hero?
Elizabeth Warren
