I’m Karen Cogan, author of clean historical and contemporary romance. I’m excited to be writing this post to you. One thing I always wonder is where you are from. I would love it if you would drop me a line in comments and let me know. I have written stories set in multiple locations and am interested to know if you relate to some of them.
Like most authors, my interests guide my writing. I love family interaction, the outdoors, animals, children, and intrigue. Most of my novels have an element of mystery or surprise. I sometimes see an interesting person or situation, or hear a snippet of conversation that becomes the germ of a new novel.
My educational background is in elementary education. I taught pre-school and kindergarten for a number of years until I recently retired. Children are funny, inquisitive and never dull. I am still involved in several groups that serve their interests.
When I am not writing, I am usually spending time with my grandchildren, horseback riding, gardening, reading or attending art shows with my artist husband. I also do all the usual house things, such as, cooking and cleaning, (though rarely dusting).
I love dark chocolate, animals, and collecting recipes. Fortunately, i can now store them online since I have more than I will ever use. Still, if you have an especially delicious favorite recipe, I’d like to see it.
At the moment, I’m working on a Christmas novel. I’ll have more news about it in a later post. Heartwarming stories of holidays with family are some of my favorites. This new story pulls neighbors who are not family into relationship with each other. It is fun and intriguing to write because my connections with friends and family are things I do not take for granted.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. Don’t forget to drop me a line.
Until next time,I wish you joy and peace.
