I am so excited to be here and so honored that Tarah Scott invited me to be participating author this year. Tarah is a wonderfully talented historical romance author and I enjoy her stories very much.
For those who don’t know me, I write erotic historical romance. I try to infuse my work with an equal measure of emotion, romance and erotic heat. My stories most often feature flawed characters and lots of angst, emotion and drama. I love to write stories about wallflowers and wildflowers, heroines who do not always fit in with the times they were born into. For me, the character tells the story and their internal conflicts drive the story. Some of my stories feature elements of light BDSM and some are scorching hot vanilla. Again, it depends on the characters.
One of the things I love about the December holiday season is the chance to make new memories with the people who are the closest to me. I love to decorate the house and to use scented candles to set the mood. And then I love to spoil people with decadent and delicious foods.
Music is an important part of the season for me. I love the old fashioned Christmas music that my parents would listen to. And I love the classical Christmas music and also Mannheim Steamroller. You are welcome to listen along with me on Pandora: Christmas Classics (http://www.pandora.com/station/play/1764445382419510726), Christmas Oldies (http://www.pandora.com/station/play/1177297072151426502), and Mannheim Steamroller (http://www.pandora.com/station/play/1764441194826397126).
I love to use lots of tinsel and lights and jewel tones and gold and silver, glittery, shiny things. I have a thing for anything themed around musical instruments and birds too. Of course anything historical related to Christmas I love too. Decorating the house and making it festive and special means so much more because my husband loves for me to decorate the house and he likes to see what I will do differently each year. I love to use lots of spices and vanilla in cooking or burn some candles and have the house smell like Christmas.
I love all sorts of holiday themed sweets and especially pumpkin pie. Peppermint or eggnog ice cream. I like to invite my best friend over and play Christmas music and share some decadent Christmas treats. I like to find all sorts of new Christmas types of candies, cookies, cakes and coffee creamers and things like this to surprise my husband with. Well, Christmas to me all about creating and sharing lovely experiences with the people closest to me. It is all about sharing the joy of the season and creating happy times.
It is important to me to try and focus on the little things in the present moment. The ways that we can be kind to each other and spoil each other a little bit. To give each other permission to escape the seriousness of everyday life. So many of the people I have been closest to in my life have carried not so wonderful memories of Christmases past with them into their adult lives. I have seen how hard they fight to move beyond such memories and yet they find themselves haunted by them all the same. This is a reason why I tend to focus on creating an atmosphere for escapism, a space to be child-like for a time. That’s what Christmas means the most to me. A chance to celebrate and to try and create small moments of joy with the ones I love the most. Some of the quietest holidays have been the happiest for me.
What’s most important about Christmas for you? What’s your ideal Christmas like?

She wanted just one naughty carriage ride…
Poor but beautiful Beth McConnel tries to be a good, dutiful young woman by working in her family’s shop. But inside she craves adventure. In the afternoons, she slips away from all the drudgery to lead a secret life as a seductress of wealthy gentlemen. She gives herself once and leaves them burning for more.
When she boldly seduces Grey Sexton, a powerful New York shipping magnate, she finds his ice-over-fire combination of ironclad self-control and sensual indulgence too tempting to resist. Perhaps this time one or two additional clandestine trysts will not hurt. A short fling may very well be worth the additional risk…
But Grey Sexton demands more than she’s willing to give. His possessive determination to own her, body and soul, threatens to expose her secret erotic life to public shame. Beth risks losing her good name— and thereby losing her place in her brother’s home and everyone and everything dear to her.
When Grey gives her an ultimatum, can she walk away from the most exciting, intriguing gentleman she’s ever known? Can a poor girl without family connections ever trust her heart to a gentleman?
Reader Advisory: Grey’s Lady is an erotic / hot historical romance. It contains scenes of frequent, explicit sex and graphic sexual language. It contains a non-traditional romance plot and an unconventional heroine.
