Everyday Heroes

Hi everyone! I am so happy to be here today. Joining me is my characters from my latest release Pack Investigator as we talk about everyday heroes.
When I first started outlining Pack Investigator I wanted something a little different from my usual sexy shifters. So how about a shifter that is also an everyday hero. I’m talking about cops, firemen, EMTs, Social workers, etc. The people who put in a lot more than eight hours a day and who take home their work because the job is never done.
I did a lot of research with the two main characters in Pack Investigator so that I can build an accurate adaption of what their everyday life was. So let’s meet Garrett Sullivan. Garret is human but has been around shifters for the last several years. His roommates and best friends are both shifters and his sister recently mated with a shifter. He’s a fireman that is trying to finish his schooling to become a Fire/ Arson Investigator.
While doing research I read a lot about how fire fighters and investigators worked in different cities. It seems that almost every State has different requirements and even call their officers by different titles. One thing for sure is that these everyday heroes save lives and make the world better.
Lily Harper is your average child social worker. For one thing she’s a wolf shifter and for another she works mainly for shifter children. For her background I couldn’t keep her career strictly accurate. It was important to the storyline that the child she is protecting ended up staying with Garrett. *There’s a plot tease for you there*
In writing Pack Investigator I learned more than I thought I would about how the workings of our everyday heroes actually ran. To me Lily’s position with social services was really where I was surprised into so much respect. The stories, articles, and letters that I came across while I studied up on her profession were both heartbreaking and amazing.
All I can do is really hope I did right by her and everyone with that job while still writing a fun, adventure filled, and sexy fiction book. Because it is fiction and that is also important to note. No matter how much I explore our heroes work they must still find romance and save the city.

The strong firefighter who stands by his side tugs at something else. Garrett is everything she has been searching for in a partner. But with a difficult investigation involving kidnapping, arson and mystery, Lily worries that she’ll lose Garrett before he can actually be hers.
It will take the entire city, their friends and family to solve the latest threat to the shifters and their human lovers.
