Christmastime at the movies with Beverley Kendall–Win books and an Amazon Gift Certificate

Like many people, Christmas is my absolute favourite.  I must admit, a lot of it is nostalgia. I remember the excitement I felt when I was young. I remember me, my brothers and sister waking up absurdly early in the morning and bugging our parents to wake up so we could go downstairs and unwrap our presents.

Now I have the pleasure of watching the pleasure on my son’s face as he rips away the gift-wrap on his presents. And for that, I’m grateful.

But the holidays is also a time I must watch two movies. The first is When Harry Met Sally. This is not a “holiday” or Christmas movie per se, but part of the movie does take place during the holidays. The second to last scene takes place on New Year’s Eve, which is plenty holiday enough for me.

When Harry Met Sally is one of those movies I like to watch with the fireplace blazing and snow falling outside. Of course now that I live in GA, snow is a rarity so I have to settle with the roaring fireplace. There’s a scene in the movie where Sally is dragging a Christmas tree alone down some New York City street. That’s one of the scenes that just tugs at my heart and makes me think of Christmas the most.

The other movie I must watch during the holidays is It’s A Wonderful Life. Need I say more? George Bailey realizes the meaning of life””his life. Honestly, the finally scene brings tears to my eyes and gets me choked up every time. “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.” *Sniff * You’d have to have a heart of stone for it not to, am I right?

What about you, is there a movie or book that brings the holidays home to you the most? Comment and enter to win a print copy of either my new adult romance, ONLY FOR YOU or my latest historical, TWICE THE TEMPTATION and a $10 Amazon GC.

A Temptress in Love

Catherine Rutherford has been smitten with the sinfully handsome American, Lucas Beaumont, since their introduction the year before. And he appears just as enamored of her, for following his return to London he launches a seductive campaign to ensnare her heart and capture her hand in marriage. Never has Catherine been so confident in the outcome of a courtship…that is until she discovers her would-be groom proposed marriage to her sister first.

Although she and her twin share the same face, Catherine refuses to share a man’s affections much less be any woman’s substitute. So with the aid of her twin and two friends, she challenges the man she loves to the ultimate test of fidelity. Posing as her heartbroken sister–who is truly anything but–Catherine seeks his solace from an “unhappy marriage” and begins a tempestuous game of seduction where the true proof of his love lies in his ability to resist her charms.

Zach’s good looks may have always gotten him his pick of girls, but it’s the star quarterback’s skill on the football field that gives him his pick of the Big Ten colleges. To escape the crushing demands of his win-at-all-costs father, Zach opts for a private university in upstate New York where…his present and past collide. And the one girl he’s always wanted but can’t have–and a class trip to Paris–turn out to be the ultimate game changer that has him breaking every one of his rules.
