May Book Brew Interview ““ Shelley Munro
Serious Questions:
1. Why were you inspired to feature the particular profession that one of your main characters is involved in?
I wanted to write a book that was different, one that featured a strong heroine with an unusual occupation. I ended up writing my cat burglar heroine in the book that became Cat Burglar in Training. When my publisher asked if I had another heroine with an unusual occupation, I came up with my truck driver heroine in Wanderlust.
2. What other influences or inspirations are behind your writing this book?
I spent six years in England, and I wanted to write a book using this setting. Cat Burglar in Training is set in Britain. With the second book, one of my favorite travel destinations is India, and this is the setting I chose for Wanderlust.
Fun Questions:
1. What was your first job?
After I left school, I worked in a bank for two years. This was my very first official job.
3. What did you dream of doing when you were a kid? (Besides writing!)
I wanted to do something involved in the travel industry. If I had my time over, I think I really would pursue a job in this industry. Meantime, I explore and travel the world as much as time and money allow, so I guess I haven’t really missed out.
5. What is your guilty pleasure or secret vice?
A glass of good New Zealand wine at the end of the day. Nothing better! J
