Horned Toad

Horned lizards are called horny toads but really are not frogs or toads. They are reptiles ““ lizards. Like all reptiles, horned lizards depend primarily on their environment to control their body temperature ““ and they like it HOT! Most horned lizards live in desert or semi-arid environments. Here is a photo of one in Arizona. They come in a range of gray, tan and brown colors to blend pretty well with their habitat. In some areas they are even a nice coral-y pink! They can be found from the California deserts to Texas and up into Nevada, Utah and Colorado at least.
