It’s that First Monday again!

Hello readers and writers, here we are back for another Book Brew gathering and party. Grab a cool one and pull up a comfy chair.  While you’re at it say a quick prayer for the folks who are picking up after the devastating storms in the Midwest, fighting flooding–both in the US and in Europe–and really having a tough time of it. Nature is not playing nice lately

Last month I was mostly absent. This month I had great plans to be much more active and come up with some new fun things. Well, in the immortal words of the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns, the best laid plans of mice and men  do not always work out! For a week I have been fighting a really nasty eye inflammation–both eyes–that seems to be a combination of allergy and some kind of infection. Needless to say I am not doing too well at computer stuff. I am better–not quite half way through a two week course of some very costly eye drops that I administer four times a day along with frequent applications of hot and then cold damp cloths across the eyes and those soothing lubrication type drops as needed, which is often. But better is relative. For a few days I felt near blind–I could see to get around the house and pour myself a glass of water without making a huge mess. That was about it. Somewhere near 20-200 or 20-300 level sight. Now about 85-90 percent normal but still itchy, light-sensitive and not comfy. So be it; I’ll quit whining as many are way worse off than me.  I just wanted you to know why I may not be real chatty today.

Same goes for Deirdre O’Dare and Gwynn Morgan since they happen to use the same eyes to do their stuff. But we do have a fine line-up of authors today to share their mystery, cop, crime-does-not-pay and such tales with us. You might find that super as yet unknown to you author that you have just got to read. There will be giveaways and as always, you have to play to win which means posting comments!! Have fun!!
