My step-mom taught me to crochet when I was a little girl, but I could only do a chain stitch and that was about it. Since she never finished teaching me I forgot how. Years later I found a book and needle combination kit by Boye called I Taught Myself to Crochet. I decided to pick it up and see if I could still learn and found that I could and quite easily. The nice thing about this is that it’s not only for right handed people, but left handed too. They have a whole section for each that way no one is confused by the directions.
After that I found a knitting kit by the same company called I Taught Myself to Knit. This a little harder for me because it’s dealing with two needles instead of one, but the directions are clear and are also for right handed and left handed people. Also in both books there are bonus projects, so you can try out your new found skills.
