The kids are back in school, yay!

I know, it sounds terrible, and the kids don’t love going back to school. But I can’t deny the truth. I need my alone time! And despite what our children tell us, they need time away from us. They also need to be with friends, and learning a thing or two doesn’t hurt them.

My daughter told me that study hall will be her favorite class—she can do what she wants. I asked her “What if you get a good English teacher?” (Her English teachers left a lot to be desired in middle school.) “This is not an alternate universe!” she shoots back. Ok, so maybe I will get the better end of the deal.

What do you plan do with the time away from your children this school year?

Unfortunately, only one of mine's in school so I don't really get any relief in that way. I'm at work during the day anyway. But he does go to bed a little earlier now that school's back in session, so maybe I'll do more writing (yeah right – evening + writing doesn't go well with me any more).
