Man I love summer!

There is never a bad time to have summer.  After a long cold winter – or just having the kids in school for months having to pack lunches, sign forms, pay for this that and the other – it's nice to relax.  Though my kids are grown – I'll never be unappreciative of the warmer, less stressed months.  I also find it easier to lose a bit of weight this time of year.  I never enjoy the intense heat – and it's difficult to eat when you're hot and sweaty – so bring on the hot days and shed those unwanted pounds!!  Unfortunately, there would have to be a couple of years of intense heat to shed enough pounds to even see my bones again, but I'll take whatever I can get.

Have any of you been following the royal couple?  I noticed they visited our friends in the North, and then came to our great country as well.  So nice to see them traveling together, but tired must they be!  I can't imagine trying to be out in the public looking rested and happy all the time.  And people talking about what Kate is wearing, what she says – no one seems to care what William does (although they did mention a faux pas of wearing the same shirt – how dare he!!  Seriously, people??!!).  Leave that beautiful woman alone – so much focus on what the materials in this world are that no one stops to just enjoy them.  I love watching them together and wouldn't care if they showed up in their PJs – I mean, we have starving people in the world and you're forcing them to wear three outfits a day and showing off different designers.  Designers don't save lives – why are we so worried about 'who' and 'what' we're wearing?  Show me what they're going for the country – show me what the stars or whomever are doing to help the hungry, sick, poor – I don't care what they're wearing while they're doing it.

We really are a lost society, aren't we?  Hey – speaking of lost – how did I go from talking about summer to this?  I must be losing my mind!!  lol.  Or that second cup of coffee just before midnight did the trick.  I know better than to drink caffeine this close to bedtime (or this late, I should say) but I couldn't resist.  My husband wanted to watch some shows together and he usually falls asleep, so I tried to fill him up with coffee and just followed suit.  Funny thing is, I'm sitting here with wide eyes and he's snoring beside me.  I suppose I should turn off the show, but I'm dying to know how the series of Smallville ends!!  lol

I hope you all have a great rest of July.  I can't believe it's the 10th already.  Where does the time go?  At least they're calling for sun tomorrow – gotta love sun on a Sunday!  I hope you're all checking out the great reads being reviewed by Coffee Time!  Grab a book, or download one and head to the beach tomorrow.  I'll be taking my paperback and lounge chair and thinking of you all.  Take care!!!

Poor William and Kate… they must be under so much pressure not to put a foot wrong! And it must be so hard to have to look absolutely perfect every second of the day! A few days after the wedding (I admit it… I cried!), I walked into a restaurant and the waitress told me I looked like 'Princess Kate', as she put it It, made my day, as you can imagine!!
I thought you might be interested in a new blog I've created for chick lit book trailers… http://chicklittrailerpark.blogspot.com/
Currently, there are only  few trailers on there but slowly the word is getting around!
    Best wishes

I loved Princess Diana and followed her since before she married Charles.  Her sons have carried on HER ways and I know she would be so very proud of them and of the new Princess Kate.  Love any books to do with the Royals.  As well, thank you for the heads-up, Suzy, on the site for the chick lit book trailers.  I am a huge chick lit fan!  By the way, you do look like Princess Kate!  So, flaunt it, Girlfriend!  🙂
