Fool Me Twice

I wrote my short story, A Fool’s Fool, for a novella titled Fool Me Twice with another author, Sandra Sookoo. Her story is titled, Remembering Andy. I wrote my story in order to try something different and because I believed I couldn’t write short. Smile. I would love your opinion on that.

Here is the blurb for Fool Me Twice:
Pranks are carried too far.

Kathy O’Reilly, a strong-willed woman doesn’t allow men to walk over her or anyone else. When one of the co-owner’s of Gagsters, Norm Jokes, is allowed to get away with playing pranks, she speaks up to her boss.

Jason Barrone, co-owner of Gagsters is attracted to his assistant and will not allow his best friend to cause him to lose her. Jason wants them to be friends because he doesn’t want to have to make a choice of who goes and who stays.

    Hi Sandra

So, I wanted to stop by and leave a comment–because it’s never fun to be lonely! 🙂 I’m not particularly interested in reading romance, although most of what I write has romantic overtones.

As to your comment in your latest post. I also don’t feel very comfortable writing short stories–I have a hard time with condensing it all into a story that is interesting. What was your strategy–did you enjoy writing it?

Anyway–in addition to being a writer, I’m also a fledgling attorney and I’m taking the bar this summer, so back to the study grind. 🙂

If you’re interested in reviewing my latest book–The Double Stroller Hand Grenade (which I describe as a “quirky love story”) let me know!

    Enjoy your day!

    Thanks,
    Derrick Hibbard

Well done you – stretching into a new genre or style, such as the short story, is a really worthwhile exercise for any writer. The story sounds great – I love strong heroines 🙂

Being completely honest…. Just that one lil’ blurb has me wanting to hope over to Amazon to get. Your blurb gets the basic of the story out there to where it’s kind of intriguing and you want to find out what happens and to know all the details. But also you didn’t gives us any hint of whats actually going to happen which makes it even more intriguing. I will def be getting this story 🙂

Hi Sandy! Didn’t want you to be too lonely over here! I have a terrible time writing shorts–I always feel like I’m leaving thing out of the plot, and it’s difficult to really develop characters in short stories, or at least it’s difficult for me. I think. Haven’t really tried to do too many of them. LOL.

I love to write shorts, Sandy, because they move along faster. I enjoyed Fool Me Twice. Good luck with sales!

Thanks, Derrick, for taking time away from your studies.

No, I didn’t enjoy writing a short story. I kept want to use my secondary characters more.

I wish I had more time to read, but I have to use my spare time to do promo, Derrick.

When I was young I wanted to be a lawyer. Smile. Happy studying.
