Well hello peoples! How yinz doin out there?
Pleasure, pleasure to be here. My name is Danielle Monsch, and I am an author (I know, big shock right?) Specifically, I am an author of the romance variety who dabbles on the fantasy side of things.
Don’t get me wrong – I love a well done contemporary romance story and have nothing but mad love for those that do it well. That being said, of all the crazy story ideas that float around in my noggin, not many are just straight contemporary. The closest I’ve come thus far is a contemporary menage story.
No, for me, it’s about fantasy. The fantasy side of things can come in the form of the paranormal and our beloved vampires, werewolves, angels & demons. It can come in sword & sorcery trappings, with dragons and elves and… well… swords and sorcery. It can come out in sci-fi or ancient myths or remakes of fairy tales. No matter which of the above, it’s all about the fantasy for me.
I am at this moment epubbed with two stories out – one a fantasy romance called “Loving a Fairy Godmother” and the other an erotic Sci-fi story called “Pleasure Satellite“. I will be speaking more of them as the day goes on. In fact, I’ll be giving a couple copies away! Woo-hoo, something to look forward to 🙂
About me – I was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA – because of this the only teams I acknowledge exist are the Pirates, the Penguins, and the Stillers AND I know how to drive a car on a road filled with potholes the size of small lakes. I am a proud geek girl who loves her anime and manga (that the Japanese cartoons and comic books for those of you not familiar with the words.) I am married to a wonderful geek guy, who tells everyone he knew he was going to propose to me when I said, “Yes, I will play in your D&D game.” We have two amazing little girls, and I couldn’t be happier with my family.
I think that covers the intro stuff. I will be posting a few more blogs over the course of the day, do a contest to possibly win a copy of one of my stories, enjoy some back and forth chit-chat, that sort of thing. If anyone has any questions for me, please feel free to post, I’d love to hear from you!
So thanks to Coffee Time Romance for hosting me, and I’m looking forward to what the day brings 🙂
Great to “meet” you, Danielle! I enjoy reading both contemporary and fantasy–it’s fun to explore worlds completely unlike our own sometimes! Congrats on your own HEA–my DH was born in Pittsburgh, too–I think that sports imprinting takes place early on. Go Steelers! 😉
Do you and your husband still game together? You must be busy with two little ones–I’m sure they’re cutie pies! Congrats on being published, and on juggling that all successfully with your family and other parts of life!
Hi Danielle!
The Penguins, huh? Good thing they’re my second favorite team – we can still be friends (Sabres fan here).
I’m not sure I like the idea of MAD love, but love is okay. I like it when people love my books. 😉
Hi Fedora,
As I’m sure your hubby has no doubt told you, Pittsburgh is a huge sports town. Rooting for any other teams will get you banned for life 🙂
Unfortunately, I’m not in any steady games right now. My youngest is less than six months old, so I’m still in protective mommy mode, and I don’t like leaving her for long periods of time. If history is anything to go by, I tend to loosen up after the first birthday, so we’ll see then.
And yes, my girls are SUCH cutie pies! 😉
LOL! I’m sure! And wow, your little ones are still quite little! We have a new nephew, and I’d almost forgotten how adorable they are when they are so tiny, and what a sweet pleasure it is to simply hold them. Time sure flies, so do enjoy your special mommy time right now! Plenty of time to game later 😀
How on earth do you find time to write?
Hey Cassandra!
We can indeed. I have learned to accept that others are allowed to make wrong choices as it concerns sports teams. Until game time of course. Then trash talking commences.
And I’ll try not to let my mad love spoil your groove and keep it under control 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Fedora,
This little one is our last, so I’m really trying to soak the babyness in, because I won’t be experiencing it again.
As for time to write… ummm… 🙂
LOL! There’ll be time for writing later, too… Just wallow in all that wonderful, amazing babyness right now… go on and just really indulge, because everyone is horribly right–time, it does fly 😉
Great excerpt – and I love fantasy in my romance as well.
Congrats on both the sales and the new little one! 🙂
