Right in the middle of writing Haleigh’s Ink, and the publication date of Together in Cyn which is June 12 I needed to sit down and take a minute to think of 13 points on one subject. What could be more appropriate to my taboo series Members Only than Erotic Romance and BDSM?
So without further adieu here are the 13 Reasons Erotic Romance and BDSM are the New Black…
- 1. Both can be slimming and make you feel uber pretty.
- 2. They’re Hot.
- 3. They’re Sexy.
- 4. Yummy styles for each and every naughty person at heart.
- 5. It looks good on everyone.
- 6. Both are kept in the closet.
- 7. It looks good with a strappy pair of high heels or nothing at all.
- 8. Jewelry is optional (think about it…)
- 9. Both have been featured on Magazines, in movies, and talked about in songs.
- 10. It’s a little bit dark, and a whole lotta naughty.
- 11. It can be short or long, but I’m part of the crowd that believes size matters. 🙂
- 12. 50 Shades of Grey ““ nuff said.
- 13. I just got back from a bondage expo where there was an entire class dedicated to tying corsets for parties. That clenched it.
So what do you think? Could BDSM and Erotic Romance find it’s way into your wardrobe?

Together in Cyn – Unedited Excerpt
My mouth went dry and mortification settled in deep like it was going to stay a while when I registered what Jared said while I was trying to outlast him.
“You’ve heard what the past few nights?” I exhaled noisily, reaching for my necklace again.
“The high pitched whirl of a vibrator, Cyn. I’ve heard it every night coming from your bedroom. We don’t think jilling really counts as sex because you’re flying solo. So I wondered why you aren’t involved with someone other than your purple boyfriend. And why you’ve all of a sudden taken up to jilling so often. Any particular reason? Case of laidicus not enoughicus?””
He finished his beer and when he leaned back, involuntarily I glanced down to his lap. An impressive hard-on strained the faded jeans he normally wore at the bar and my temples started pounding as blood rushed to my head.
“You’ve listened to me”¦masturbating?” I snapped my gaze back up to his face and over to Chris who stood behind the bar drying a glass. Just a simple glance heated my insides. Need pooled low in my belly and it was all I could do not to rub my thighs together to alleviate the ache.
Damn, he was as tantalizing as his brother, but the opposite in coloring. Darker in every way. Brown hair cut short and chocolate eyes a girl could happily drown in. But they held secrets I’d always been afraid to uncover.
Tonight was different though.
He looked”¦hungry.

I got the biggest chuckle out of this one! Hope you guys enjoy it. 🙂
Great 13 reasons!
I read both actually, though I only started about a year or 2 ago. I just really never felt comfortable. And no, it didn’t start with 50 Shades. Lol. I have read that one also due to friends pushing me to.
Loved the excerpt! I will definitely be checking it out. 😉
Thanks for sharing.
So glad you liked them Tina! It still hits me every time that people are actually going to read my books now. It’s so awesome!
Erotic romances have been part of my reading wardrobe since the early 80s when I purchased a copy of “Ladies Own Erotica: The Kensington Ladies Erotica Society”. I was on an upper floor of The Tattered Cover in Denver (the original Tattered Cover) and all but stumbled into this unlit corner of the room. The selection of books in this genre were few, maybe a dozen, and guardedly displayed. Clandestinely hush-hush which made it even more intriguing to me. That began my rather extensive collection of erotica novels and shorts. I’ve recently completed writing my first erotica tale and hope to have it published some day. Now that the genre is not so much under wraps, I may have a chance at seeing it on a shelf!
I love that the genre is more widely accepted now. Naughty sure works for me! Glad so many people agree. Good luck with your writing. 🙂
Hi, Jennifer,
Well, I’ve been writing BDSM erotic romance for a LONG time – long before it became fashionable. And I know first hand what it feels like to be bound and spanked…to give up your will to someone you trust…honestly, it’s not about fashion, it goes straight to the heart.
Fun excerpt.

I began reading these wonderfully, trashy books a year or so ago and damned if I’m not hooked. It’s great to find new authors and exciting twists on what each author writes. BDSM is truly the new black and we women are both on top and excited about it 🙂
Amen sister!! I love love LOVE reading it as well as writing it! It’s an awesome genre!
