Logan Bell feels he has a purpose in life, at least his father, the head senior VP at Vescon Technologies, believes his son has a promising future if he will set his mind to do the right thing. When Logan enters Universal Studios and is immediately hired by the Director on the spot, he never anticipated what lay ahead of him.
Beth Glaston works at Universal Studio but works on a different level. When she meets Logan she has a way of coming on to him. She would like nothing more than to move to a different level.
Logan loves to play video games more than working but paying bills demands him to find a job. After he enters Universal Studios, he is certain he is being sent to Human Resources but is sent to the director who interviews him and immediately hires him as the new organizational development analyst. Logan is more than surprised. He has the duty of a trouble shooter, to go to the different floor levels and see how each one is progressing. Along the way he encounters a different person on each floor. Beth is quite different with a pierced tongue who seems to start getting closer than he expected. Then there is Rima Bashir, on the third floor, who makes him feel instantly welcome. When he meets the one known as the Shareholder, he is surprised to learn the real meaning of each of the levels. Learning the true product that lies in level 5 is a product that offers more than anything, if he is willing to accept the offer.
The Next Level is written like a parable packed with a whole lot of punch. Unless one really reads this book, I do not think they can actually know its worth, let along appreciate the message that comes with this great inspirational. I thought Logan was an interesting character, realistic in his actions. He is looking for something that will benefit much more in his life as he climbs the different levels. David Gregory pens an excellent read that gives much thought. I liked the way the book moved along smoothly never once losing the readers attention. This is a book I would recommend and keep always.
