Faye feels a ghost lives inside her. The ghostly-like woman is someone important who beckons for Faye to come to her aid. The more she is aware of the events that lie around her, she learns that Akhenaton, Nefertiti, had lived in a doomed city of Amarna. After weighing all the events, Faye is positive that this person desires her to make the journey there first. With Nick’s help and support, they head to Egypt for answers. Faye needs to understand the occurrences happening in her life. Nick fears that once Faye’s journey begins to discover the truth, the ending may end up being worse on her. He can only hope he does not lose his wife to any ghostly presence.

The Calling moves at a good pace to keep the audience abreast of the situations while slowly luring them into the web that spins around Faye. Nick is a sympathetic and compassionate soul when it comes to taking care of his wife. Faye endures many events and is strong throughout her journey. I could almost share in the feelings that Faye was experiencing throughout her confrontations. Kathryn Meyer Griffith pens a book that has some rollercoaster twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes. She really has done her research. I found this an interesting read with a great cast.
