How old were you when you first found your love of horror?
I stumbled across a Stephen King novel, I think it was “Christine”, around age 11 and was a confirmed horror stories fangirl for life.
When you began your writing career, did you find it hard to get published?
My first attempt at a paranormal romance was fantastic! ::laughing:: Or, so I thought until I submitted it to a boutique publisher’s editor. She gave me great feedback and sent me on my way back to my desktop PC. After bingeing several seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, I was inspired to create a trilogy about my own demon hunter, Elle Connor, from my Hell On Heels stories. I received a publication offer from the Wild Rose Press within a few weeks of submitting that trilogy.
What is your absolute favorite horror movie or series?
My two favorite horror movies are The Exorcist and IT (Stephen King – both the older one and the newer reboot)
If you were in the movie and heard the scary music while going downstairs, what would you do, run or face the danger?
Depends on whether or not I’m amped up on chocolate and coffee, my two favorite avenues to caffeine. No caffeine would mean I would not be sticking around long enough to face the danger.
It’s rare that horror and love blend, is there an author who impressed you and gave you the desire to write.
That would be Charlaine Harris. Her books, particularly the Sookie Stackhouse books, are incredibly well written and just amazing.
How old were you when you began to write romantic horror books?
In my early 20s I began dabbling and experimenting with combining the two genres. I wasn’t really satisfied with the early results, but as I kept writing over the years, I loved the wild stuff I came up with.
If you were the heroine, which of your books would you want to be in?
Hm. Crimson and Maraschino Marriage Pact.
If you ran into a situation in real life where horror and romance blended, what would you want your ideal hero to do to protect you?
These days, I would love to encounter and eventually marry my book hero, Ash Lockler from Crimson or Jason Cross (both vamps) from my upcoming release, Dark Magick and Dirty
Secrets. I would want both of them to protect me by handling all menacing villains in The Godfather movies mafia style.
Do your family and friends support your works and have they read your books?
Yes! I have an incredibly wonderful author support system in my family, friends, and editors. All of them have read every single thing I’ve ever published.
How many books do you plan on writing in the future?
::laughing:: I plan to write enough books to fill up several shelves at every bookstore in the United States …and that’s just in the next ten years.
