Moving to a new place can be exhilarating and scary all at the same time. Most of the time, moving means not knowing anyone in the city where we are moving to. For me, it is easier to take a couple of old friends who have been with me for a while. It makes settling in a bit easier for me.
Hannah Howell is an author I have taken with me on my moves. Her characters are always either having an adventure or finding themselves in some sort of trouble. My favorite series in the Murray Clan. I am only missing two from the series at this point in time. The Murrays are a clan who love each other and stand with one another even when trouble sets in, as it usually does. Many within the clan have powers of healing or second sight. They are a mischievous bunch, but it makes it very hard to not fall in love with them and their kin.
I did the moving thing a few times and always until my last move in fact I had several boxes of books, treasures that I had saved through the years. My Pern dragon books, My Piers Anthony pun series of Xanth, his Adept series and his other one with the Fates and Immortality. I just loved my fantasy, magical Companion horses who Chose you Misty Lackey’s Valdemar series of trilogies. Alas while packing for my final move into the home I am now renting to own by article of agreement, many of my books would have gotten water damage while stored in my former basement/garage.
So I have had to start collecting all over, only to discover my bad boy Shadow marking his territory on the bottom of my bookshelves, Thankfully only damaging the glossy covers of hardback books. Now I’m packing them up so he can’t mark them again.
