My mom started me at a young age with making crafts. Together, her and I often would make gifts to give away during the holidays. I was close to ten when I completed my first cross stitch pattern. It was simple, but I was so proud of it. Twenty plus years later and I am still cross stitching. The designs are a lot more complicated, but I love the craft still.
Usually, I go and simply buy the pattern. Then, I came across this book, Magical Cross Stitch. It has patterns within its pages that beckoned to me. From the Phoenix, to a pegasus, to the Goddesses, to fairies, mermaids and more. The designers of this book show how you can take certain elements from the pattern and use them for other purposes (bookmarks, coasters, journal covers, etc.) There are over 25 different designs in this book.
The patterns are more complex so this book is not one for beginners.
That is one thing I never could take up. I wanted to knit and do all that good stuff but I started having trouble with my hands and couldn’t do any type of cross stitching. My oldest daughter is good at doing that and makes such lovely things. I am going to pass this info to her about this book, thanks. 😉
I love cross stitching too! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this book, but I’ll check it out. I have other cross stitching books some where, but not many. I usually just buy patterns that I like or I’ll get the magazines like Cross Stitch Crazy (from the UK), Just Cross Stitch, Cross Stitch & Needlework plus a few more magazines from the UK. They are all great and have some beautiful and fun designs.
