Truman Gritt has had a rough life but despite that he is fiercely protective of his family. He even spent time in jail for a crime he did not commit. Now with the death of his mother, he finds himself guardian of a brother and sister he never had; in addition to trying to keep his other brother clean. Then he meets Gemma and his world flips again.
Gemma Wright has tried to start her life over in a new town away from what she believes is a loveless family. She has worked hard to open her own business and be her own self. When she meets Truman she is blown away with her feelings for him, not to mention the two adorable little ones he is taking care of.
Being together and starting to resemble a family is how the relationship between Gemma and Truman seems to be the path they are on, but soon Truman confides a secret to Gemma and both are unsure of the future. Can they both leave the past behind them in order to move forward?
What an enjoyable read. Both Truman and Gemma have been broken by their past. Both are working hard to change that and makes you want to cheer for this couple. What an emotional roller coaster this ride takes you on. Kudos to Ms. Foster on writing another great book that leaves you wanting more of her works to read.
