Hello everyone. My name is J. Arlene Culiner and I write romances with strong original main characters who refuse to follow the crowd, and are quite able to laugh at themselves. The places I take my readers are unusual: All About Charming Alice and Desert Rose are both set in Blake’s Folly, a semi-ghost town in Nevada; in The Turkish Affair, we find ourselves in Karakuyu, Turkey, an ancient Hittite city, now an archaeological site; in A Swan’s Sweet Song we travel across America with Sherry Valentine, country music singer; and in Felicity’s Power we go from California to Hungary. As you can see, this is armchair travel at it’s best, and since I’ve lived in many countries, I love describing them. I do enjoy writing realistic romances with true-to-life heroes and heroines; people who, despite all the hurdles life might throw at them, do manage to find love. And those satisfying endings keep us believing that love is there for all of us.
