How do you handle characters who change personality without your say so? Or, how do you handle characters whose spontaneous actions change the plot or course of the story?

DM Roberto said:
I would like to hope my characters don’t change and do a 360 on me, but when they do, I try to roll with the punches, asking them why or what made them do this or hide that portion of their personality. Otherwise I am cursing up a storm and banging my head like mad against the wall. 🙂
