As the holly-jolly crime spree unfolds, Mark wrestles with duty and desire while juggling festive clues, lavish gifts, and stolen kisses in time for a truly crooked Christmas.

Damon Suede… between soft and rough
Damon Suede grew up out-n-proud deep in the anus of right-wing America, and escaped as soon as it was legal. He has lived all over: Houston, New York, London, Prague. Along the way, he’s earned his crust as a model, a messenger, a promoter, a programmer, a sculptor, a singer, a stripper, a bookkeeper, a bartender, a techie, a teacher, a director... but writing has ever been his bread and butter. He has been happily partnered for over a decade with the most loving, handsome, shrewd, hilarious, noble man to walk this planet.
Addictions: sweetness that isn’t sentimental, wit that isn’t bitter, strength that isn’t cruel. Allergies: professional victims, half-assery, clichés.
Beyond romance fiction, Damon has been writing for print, stage, and screen for over three decades, which is both more and less glamorous than you might imagine. He`s won some awards, but his blessings are more numerous: his amazing friends, his demented family, his beautiful husband, his loyal fans, and his silly, stern, seductive Muse who keeps whispering in his ear, year after year.

18 years agoHi, Kelly!
You and I see this whole writing business through the same pair of eyes I think. Heroes who are perfect are boring, and the stronger and more complex the hero is, the more interesting he becomes when his emotional strength is tested by the power of true, unrelenting love. We all come to terms with our inner selves in different ways, and in writing, we get to see the process of another person’s mind at work, as they learn, grow, struggle, and fall under the spell of a power greater than anything else life puts before us. Love, in all its guises, is the thing that will make and define who we become. Handsome heroes, beautiful heroines, they’re a dime a dozen. The ones who crawl into your heart are seldom the ones we remember by visual reference, they’re the people who remind us of who we are inside, and what we want to be… Those are the people you write, and the thing that makes them special!! That is what real writing and real talent is all about!!
Hugs,
Denyse

18 years agoWell, I haven’t thought much about making Love Immortal a series. I suppose it could very well go that way. What I like doing though is creating new characters, new worlds, new plots. I get bored easily and haven’t had the gumption to create a series yet. Now it’s brewing in my mind though! Maybe centered on Theron and the various ladies he’s met throughout his lifetime? His travels, his trials and tribulations? Then again, since he had to remain a virgin for 300 years I suppose steamy sex scenes would be out! lol

18 years agoSo right, Denyse! I do feel that as writers we put a bit of ourselves into each character. Maybe this is the best form of therapy out there! We can learn and grow and heal…through our characters! And, as you said, the ones we remember are the ones who have touched us because they hit some sore spots, some weak spots, or even some hopes and dreams inside of us.
